Date: May 11 2004 Major: (This Major's Salary over time) when i was at my first interview - still a senior in high school - the man interviewing me said, "if you don't mind leaky ceilings and crazy paperwork, Pratt is for you". his words rang truer than i ever could have guessed, but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT. Pratt is AWESOME. when i was there - ONE year ago - the people i heard complaining, were the kids who had a hard time accepting the fact that you get what you EARN. nothing is handed to you. you work for your grades. you want job listings? job contacts? talk to people. DO IT. you want good grades? stop doing coke every five minutes and do some work for once. DO the research about the faculty, FIND out who the good teachers are and you will not be disappointed. the dorms are gross, but fun as hell and WAY BETTER than NYU dorms, or Fordham dorms, or any others i've seen - they're more lived in, they're old apartments, so they're larger, they have balconies, its great. we all called them pieces of crap, but we lovingly called them pieces of crap. YOUR EXPERIENCE IS UP TO YOU. i had no social life - my friends and i worked all nighters and had fun and hated and loved it - now i'm employed making 40/yr and ive been out of school barely a year. Pratt is what you make of it. Take from it as much as you can - that's what it's there for - but you will be disappointed if you sit back on your ass and wait for success to come to you. deal with the paperwork, deal with the craziness - its all what makes pratt great. work your ass off, do the research, talk to people and you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! don't send out 'a' resume and be pissed when they don't call you. send out fifty. get the education you pay for, ask questions, love what you do, and it'll pay off. laziness gives you college loans up the wazoo. PRATT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.
