Georgetown is a great school. Although it's "only" ranked 25 in USNews, everyone knows that this is based on financial issues and alumni giving ratings. The education is top notch, and whenever the general public thinks of a top school, Georgetown is always among the Ivies, Stanford, MIT, UChicago, JHU, etc. There is a strong international focus which is good for those interest in those areas(International affair, relations, business, health, languages, etc.). The Faculty of Languages and Linguistics is top, the School of Foreign Service is world renowned, the McDonough School of Business consistently sends students to top I-Banks yet it's "only" 27 according to USNews. The Georgetown College is a great liberal arts school. The School of Nursing and Health Studies provides unique experiences, especially through it's concentrations in International Health, Health Systems Administration, and Human Science, as well as it's top Nursing programs. Social life is amazing as well. Georgetown is the best area of DC, with tons of shops, restaurants, bars, a mall, etc. It's always seen as one of the best college towns. If you don't want to stay in the area, go on the metro or the bus downtown or to other college areas, such as Foggy Bottom, or the Howard area, or the American area, etc. On campus parties are always available on weekends, usually starting on thursday night to saturday night. If you want alcohol, it won't be hard to find it. However if you're not into that, you'll have no problem doing other things as well. There are MANY clubs available, and a majority of students are active on campus. The campus itself is beautiful. You'll find trees, grass(though not as much as I'd like admittedly), walkways, gothic buildings, modern buildings, quads, flowers, a few ponds, a fountain, gates, etc. It's an extremely defined campus. HOYA SAXA!
