Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
When I turned down the Rochester Institute of Technology because of monetary issues (wasn't offered much in the way of financial aid), I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life. In retrospect, it was a blessing in disguise - I wouldn't trade my undegrad experience at Northeastern for anything in the world! First off, Northeastern offers high-quality education, tremendous academic resources and support centers. Faculty were, for the most part, friendly and usually available for help. It's modern, cutting-edge campus design is simply amazing and serves as a nice foil to traditional campuses like Harvard or Boston College's. Without a doubt, Boston has to be THE best college city on the planet! A casual stroll around town and you're bound to run into students from a veritable smorgasbord of colleges (BU, Harvard, BC, Emerson, Tufts, MIT, Suffolk, etc.). One component about this school that CANNOT be overlooked is its connections with countless local companies. This means great internship and career opportunites for students. All of my friend at Northeastern have graduated and are now enjoying great careers (Nurse Anesthetists, Pharmacists, Engineers, etc.). I'm currently a first year med student and I have to thank the faculty for their tremendous advice in making myself a more marketable candidate for med school. I also appreciate the fact that Northeastern cultivates an atmosphere of diversity and you can really see it in the student body. I've got to meet students from varios ethnic, religious, economic and social backgrounds which has, doubtless, enrichened my college experience. All in all, a great school that is rapidly improving! Northeastern recently broke into the top-tier in US News' Rankings which proves this school is making great strides and will continue to do so.
