Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
My time at NC State was awesome. I think I was well prepared for a career in research. I had a job waiting on me when before I graduated. The biggest influence on the NC State atmosphere is the area it's in. Since NC State is so close to RTP and RTP employs many NC State graduates it's natural that the biggest colleges at the university are in the sciences. Engineering and Life Sciences are not only the biggest departments but they have the most resources. I found my current job thorough the Life Sciences career services department. Engineering and Life Sciences have their own career fair every year. As far as I know, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences doesn't have these resources. Many of my friends with majors like English, History, or Sociology had alot of trouble finding a job when they graduated from NC State. My advice would be not to come to NC State unless you are majoring in Engineering, Life Sciences or Agriculture. Other majors just don't get the same treatment.
