Georgia Tech is very well-respected and there is certainly a tight alumni network for those that graduate and stay connected. As someone recently told me, Georgia Tech gives you an Ivy League education and alumni network at a Walmart price (not including sweat equity). If one has the aptitude, motivation, and capacity to take a few knocks - Georgia Tech will get you anywhere you wish to go...but it clearly is not a place for the faint of heart.
