All in all, a Georgetown education is what you make of it. The school has fantastic resources, many of the departments are top notch (government, history, and the sleeper hit Theology), and the faculty has some real gems. DC is, of course, the perfect college city, where phenomenal internships and fantastic cultural opportunities abound. There are some negatives: ambivalent social atmosphere (although basketball successes have helped a lot), some crappy departments (sciences, for instance; although that is changing), and an old gym. Yes, the student body can be arrogant. Yes, many of the SFS students are self-absorbed. Yes, there are moments when you can get lost in the system. But if you are willing to put in an effort to capture the best of what the campus has to offer, then Georgetown can launch you into a pretty impressive position out of college.
