I will echo what others have been saying. If you're in college for the education, and almost would rather not be around the "college experience" riffraff, then UCO is DEFINITELY the place for you. The professors are top notch. They are very well educated and personable, and unlike other big public universities, they are very accessible. If you are wanting to go to UCO for anything other than the classwork and quality professors, than I suggest you look elsewhere. If you are not a commuter/do not have a house, family, etc., then you will find yourself in the minority at UCO. As such, the college often cater to the working commuters and offer some classes exclusively at night. Campus involvement is very low, though if you want to find a leadership position or take on a challenge, this could be a plus. The only other significant problem I have encountered at UCO is the Enrollment Management segment: anything having to do with financial aid, admissions, or advisement is over-stretched, and very unhelpful. As an example, there are only 4 freshman advisors to cover 5000 entering freshman. Because they are overworked, they are very unfriendly. Basically, if you are wanting to get that little piece of paper and get a good education along the way, then your money will be well spent here. If you are a traditional student and wanted college to provide you with activities and be this amazing 4 years out of your life...DON'T apply within.
