If you don't like UConn, there is only one reason: you are lazy. Obviously UConn is a huge school with tons of kids. But as an incoming Sophomore, I have seen dozens of my peers just sit back and wait to start loving school. Friends aren't going to be made for you, and while there are lots of clubs/organizations/sports teams, they seem intimidating and unapproachable if you go into them alone. A large social network will make your experience at UConn a fantastic one. People who have negative things to say about UConn do not push themselves, do not put themselves out there, and do not go beyond their comfort zone. Yeah, it's Connecticut, so most of the kids are from Connecticut and are pretty loaded. UConn is amazing, it has incredible energy...yeah it's in the middle of nowhere but you forget about that--the campus is so self-contained it feels like it's own city and you really have no reason to leave. If you are an outgoing, enthusiastic, energetic person, you will love UConn. Oh--and it helps if you like to party ;-)
