Brown is a great school for the independent go-getter who know him/herself enough and wants to develop him/herself further. You tailor your own curriculum and discover issues appealing to your self-identity and curiosity. Having said that, I wasn't quite as mature at the time, and so I felt that I could have taken better opportunity of my time at Brown. Passive straight A students shouldn't be looking at this university. Brown is also extremely diverse and liberal, not for the close-minded conservative. Perhaps one aspect is that if you are not progressive-minded in tailoring your own curriculum, it is relatively easy to get by, by taking the easy classes and fulfilling the minimum requirement. That is possible, but a total waste of your time and money at Brown. I also didn't like the residence lottery system, especially having to stay in on-campus housing for 3 years. Young Orchard was great, but two years stuck in the Grad Center was awful!
