I am extremely bothered by the negative reviews, especially regarding diversity and campus safety. I live in Galesburg- the town the college is located in, because I love it. It is a town with a lot of great history (19th century buildings, an antique mall, etc.). Anyone who claims that the campus is located near to a ghetto must be a rich prick. Yes, it is located near lower-class housing, but these people have a right to be near us! The communication between our school and the town needs help, largely because of a few bad, stuck up eggs. The faculty have not only been helpful, they have given me a portion of their lives. One drove me all the way to Chicago twice, another let me crash in their apartment. They have gotten me discount tickets, a grant for a thousand dollars so I could do research. They've even let me overload on classes! If you are a prick and can't handle a smaller, midwestern town, then stay on a private island. If you want a great education, you can come to Knox!
