Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
I was kind of a big deal in high school, always had a lot of girls and a lot of friends, so i was more into having a good time than looking into colleges. i decided to stay home and commute because fordham was a good name school and it was too expensive to live on campus if im only 30 minutes away. commuting to fordham is a big mistake. unless you have a lot of friends back home or a girlfriend or something you will go crazy. no one is accepting of commuter students and you are completely separated from the residents. you get a little lounge that is falling apart and smells weird, and everyone in it is speaking spanish so it could be uncomfortable if you are not spanish. i moved off campus into an overpriced apartment about 2 weeks into the semester because i couldnt take the commuting and didnt feel part of the school. it got better and i started to meet a few people and i started to go out to the local bars. this is fun at first but its all they do every single day. freshmen guys dont get invited to off campus parties and those are where all the hot girls are so your kinda stuck. this going to the same 3 bars everynight is also a big hit to your pocket. besides that there is no social life. everyone you meet is pretty miserable and all pretty much feel the same way. some people absolutely love it, which i dont understand, but alot hate it. you dont get to pick your classes and you're put into core classes that you have no interest in that will kill your gpa before you even start taking real classes. its alot of writing and alot of busy work, not many tests aside from midterms and finals. i would say if your from out of state and want to go to a good school in new york and you can't get into NYU go to fordham. otherwise stay away because this school is the most depressing place i have ever been. i am throwing away 5000 dollars by breaking my contract on my apartment lease and am transferring next semester. be careful and make sure you get a realistic feel of every college you are interested in.
