She cares more about Social Life than the average student.

The reviews on this school baffle me. The majority of students here are from the same areas: New Jersey, New York, Long Island, with some other northern folks scattered about. When walking down hallways and walkways, students pass each other and ask "Are you going out tonight?" meaning the bars. This is a bar and alcohol-oriented school. Sure, the academics are great. The teachers really care and attempt to assist at every possible chance. The social life, however, falls short. If you are not from the areas mentioned above, there is little to no chance of finding likeminded people, unless you are into partying and being loud, drunk, and belligerent. Weekends at Loyola are empty. There is almost nothing to do on weekends with the exception of some activities that occur about once a month. Coming as an out of state student from anywhere other than the North is VERY difficult. Students at Loyola tend to conform in order to fit in. Almost every night of the week, somebody will be going to get drunk. Loud antics in residence halls nearly every night, especially bad on the weekends. Do not attend this school if you do not want to conform to a destructive lifestyle. The school itself is great, but Loyola has lost something in selectivity that allows its students to maintain normal conversation without speaking about their favorite brand of alcohol or getting smashed the night before. Most students lack substance at Loyola. If all students were studious and took into consideration how much money is actually being spent to go there (around $50,000+) I'm sure their outlook would be different. People just aren't real here, they are caught in the lifestyle this school contains. It doesn't get much better as you speak to sophomores, juniors, or seniors, either.
