Northeastern is one of the fastest rising universities in the country. The administration has spent more than half a billion dollars on the physical plant (new dorms with amazing views of Boston, and state of the art academic, research, and recreation facilities). The school is also in the process of beefing up academics by adding 150 tenure track faculty and expanding course offerings (esp. in the liberal arts). Getting in is getting increasingly more difficult. The acceptance rate now is in the 30% range and the average SAT is approaching 1300. Oh, and did I mention that Northeastern has the top internship program in the country. NU students get jobs at Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Apple, EMC, and a host of Fortune 500 Companies. The rankings have yet to catch up to all the major improvements, but look for a big jump in the next couple of years. My degree becomes more valuable every day. Now if we could only have some good sports teams to root for besides hockey ....
