Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
I am in the military program. I love it. They have very reasonable tuition and the dean cares A LOT about having a great program. He came in once and personally asked us for feedback during one of the class periods. It was awesome. The advisers are helpful, too. I am majoring in social science. I was a student at the Hawaii Loa campus for their science program and the teachers were alright, but the coursework was terrible. It didn't challenge me enough. Everything was memorization and no critical thinking. However, I think this is standard in the natural sciences. I switched to the social sciences and I have been more challenged since switching. I am asked to read a lot of books and write papers about what I am learning. They have a lot of online classes and many of them are as engaging as the classes in person. I highly recommend this program, especially for military personnel and spouses. The downtown campus is OK... This is a small liberal arts college, so they don't have what a lot of larger campuses have. The student body does seem very diverse, which I like, and most of the teachers I have had in both programs were nice and helpful.
