Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Anyone commenting on the MIPs are obviously idiots. College isn't about parties and getting drunk. If you are getting drunk and being stupid about it then you deserve the citation. Besides, parties are everywhere and every night. If you spend any time at all looking, rather than sitting on your ass and complaining, you would find one. I am happy GV is not the party atmosphere, because I like being able to study without a bunch of loud hooligans being obnoxious. Anyway, Grand Valley has been a pretty positive experience. My professors, with in my majors, have been great mentors and are helping me get into a Graduate School. I have made a tremendous amount of friends by simply being social. I started a couple clubs, and have participated in a few. All together, there is plenty too do. Even if your idea of a good time is simply getting high in the woods, Grand Valley provides an endless amount of trails for that. Yes, people do go home on the weekends, but those people aren't worth meeting anyway. In fact, when you are a Freshman and don't have an assload of work, the weekends become the best time too meet people and have fun. There is a city 20 minutes away for nightlife (which it seems many of the negative reviews come from underagers anyways "boo hoo the police won't let me drink" GROW A PAIR). Do I have complaints, sure. But they mostly deal with department politics that you find anywhere. So come here if you want quality Undergrad education, and you have enough motivation too get off your ass and find fun.
