Grand Valley State University, like most schools has its strengths and weaknesses. The campus is spectacular and safe. I had no problem walking between my classes and living center. They also do a good job with accommodating off campus students with shuttles to off-campus apartments and to the downtown campus. One of Grand Valley's problems is that they are growing too fast for their own good. Once admitted to Grand Valley, you are treated as a number. Several of the staff speak english as a second language and are difficult to understand. Many faculty try to make their classes excessively difficult to "weed students out". Many faculty treat students as an inconvenience. Class sizes range anywhere from 20 to 200 students. Traffic on campus is horrible at all times of day. The campus is in the town of Allendale which is nice because it gives it a small town feel, but it suffers because there is not much to do unless you travel to Grandville or Grand Rapids.
