I chose Grand Valley State University because of the business college. I also chose it because of it's beauty and modernized structures. They did a great job of taking advantage of new technological opportunities. However, the technology is only as good as the people that use it. Grand Valley State University is not very outgoing when it comes to student's needs. They spend tuition money on new "toys" such as vehicles, and do not distribute resources properly. Upon requesting tables for a fraternity event, I did not receive them until the 3rd day. The explanation was that "the gremlins were taking them." This was unacceptable. The student workers that are hired to perform food service jobs, maintain landscaping, and other miscellaneous tasks do not have very good people skills. They will cut in front of customers, often have attitudes, and do not perform quality work.
