JMU is a good school, not a great school. You won't find here the academic elite. You'll take a look at some of the kids in your class and think "what idiotic admissions officer let this person in here." That being said, the faculty are amazing here. They are open, friendly, and easily approached. I am transferring to William and Mary because of the academics, but, if you want a good undergraduate experience, JMU is not too bad of a place to go. You can make it great if your want to.
