The school's reputation definitely helps. Also everyone says "don't worry about your GPA in college--no employer will ever care." Uh, not true. If you perform well at a top-tier institution, people will definitely notice that. I liked Northwestern's: motivated students, arts activities, range of courses, quarter system, Res College life, campus, location near Chicago, and alumni network.
