Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a health sciences general major, so I'm studying what this school is good at. If you want a job at a physical/occupation therapist or as an athletic trainer, this is the place for you. However, the rate of kids who get into med school(MD/DO), is pitifully low. Business majors do alright, especially accounting. CAS/Comm is just a big waste of time here. Socially, I see people calling this school "preppy." That is half true: girls are pretty, but the guys are absolutely NOT PREPPY. Rich, which is what these kids are, is not necessarily preppy. They may have nice cars and their parents payin' their way, but preppy isn't the same as rich. Girls, yes, wear North Face, Uggs, expensive designers, etc. But for guys, this isn't preppy. You cannot constantly wear polos and oxfords, and I almost NEVER see anyone in khakis, ever. Only jeans. Nor do I see pattern shorts. The hats are all flatbrim, no truly preppy hats. Guys are half-guido and half-skater/surfer. Also, a real preppy place has more people from Greenwich and the North Shore of Nassau, as well as PA's Main Line. Here, everyones from Jersey (not preppy), LI's South Shore (Guido Island), Brooklyn/Bronx/Staten Island, and some of the lower suburbs of CT and Mass. Also, many, MANY went to parochial, NOT PREP schools. Some kids come from truly preppy places, but they try hard not to be the preppy stereotype. If thats your thing, there's a lotta NESCAC schools around, as well as BC. Also, your classes are where you'll meet your friends, as well as frosh dorms/orientation.
