Berkeley sucks. Crowded campus. Dumpy, unsafe town full of mentally ill homeless people. Sky high rents. Kids live 3-4 to a room, paying $800/mo or more. And the staff is too busy bragging about all of their Nobel Prize winners, to give a rat's @ss about the undergraduates. Have a question for the financial aid office? Submit a "case" [i.e. fill out an online form], and wait several days and MAYBE they will reply to you. Got a question about why the grades aren't appearing? Fuhgeddaboutit. Registrar won't even respond. I go in to make sure I'm going to graduate. The staff member sits polishing her nails and texting her boyfriend and won't even answer my question. The website was recently rebuilt and is a nightmare. No more "degree audit" to tell you what you need to graduate. Dorm food sucks. Etc. etc. My brother went to UCSD? campus and staff sooooo much better.
