Smith does not view its students as people. The administration is condescending, rude, and utterly unhelpful. Students are seen as a liability if they deviate from the norm, and when things get hard the college pushes students away rather than helping them. Any problems? They?re your problems alone, even when it?s the administration?s fault. Deans brush off student concerns and expect you to have memorized the distorted, inaccessible inner workings of the college. I have been struggling with pointless logistical problems since beginning my Smith career, and I continue to struggle with administration until now, 3 days before commencement. The student body is vitriolic and hateful. They play the ?oppression olympics? for social status. Social status relies on how vocal you can be about your own marginalized communities. Class consciousness is nonexistent in both the student body and administration. Staff are treated poorly and paid very low wages.
