Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Columbia University's curriculum and agenda is strongly eurocentric, existentialist, religiously atheist, darwinist and capitalist. Argument is the central focus of most classes and the fact that most students are sophisticated, knowledgeable and opinionated means it can get pretty brutal. Arrogance, condescention and depression amongst students and faculty abound but everyone is too uptight to seek help or a shoulder to lean on. It is highly competitive and this makes for an unpleaseant isolating environment with little room for communication, creative expression or free thought. Unless they are very driven to compete for the spoils of a "Columbia degree", students who have not been prepared by intense college preparatory high school curriculums, who seek a positve learning experience and who believe in equality and freedom of thought, whether "rational" or not, will not benefit from this institution.
