Caltech was a pretty low quality place toBrightPhysics
Caltech was a pretty low quality place to go, it didn't really offer much in the way of a 'college experience'. The coursework was very rigorous, however, in many cases it seemed to emphasize covering more material instead of covering in great depth. I thought the core would give me a very solid foundation in math/physics but the classes seemed rushed and overall I think the coverage of the various fields was somewhat spotty.

Caltech has been by far the most challengingSuper BrilliantAerospace Engineering
Caltech has been by far the most challenging experience of my life before. An incredible amount of my time is spent studying, but the payoff (as I'm nearly done with the core) is a truly superior understanding of all the basic sciences (in many cases, the physics classes for instance are nearly equivalent to what a physics MAJOR would take at another school--except faster paced!), and in a couple more years, hopefully a thorough understanding of aerospace engineering. Caltech is ideal preparation for graduate school; less so for entering directly into the work force. Emphasis is definitely upon developing an exceptionally solid background in the main branches of science, and preparing students for careers as scientists or research engineers with plenty of undergraduate research experience.

Quite BrightComputer Science
While it's definately difficult here, if you want to a degree in math or science, this is the place to be.
