Pasadena City College

The school is NOT student oriented. Credits that you took at another school will not transfer in-not because of the coursework covered-but because the other school you went to is on quarters and not semesters like PCC. The students do not dictate whether the school goes on quarters or semesters, so that should not be held against the student. The only thing that should matter is if the student got the same information/lessons in the other class taken at the other college as it pertains to the courses at PCC. Also, the counselors are not readily available. They only provide same day appointments, and if you are in class in the mornings when they open, chances of you getting an appointment on a day when you are actually on campus are slim. They must understand that not every student can drop what they are doing on days they do not attend class to drive all the way out to Pasadena for a 30-45 minute session (if your question takes that long to answer).

If at all possible skip this school and go right into a "real college" this school has done nothing but waste my money and time. They give you the run around about classes. The counselors dont do anything but give you a piece of paper and say "here follow this" and thats all they will do for you. They wont help you with anything. They are all a bunch of idiots.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

It has been a nightmare to come to this college. Although the staff and professors have been really helpful to me and throughout my education, it is hard to find friends who are concerned with their education and at least willing to be serious in class and attempt to work hard on class work and exams. Most of the college students are very talkative, yet do less work.It is an irony that scholarships and financial aid are available for those who do not at least try to perform well in classes. Besides, those who are persistent in doing college work (only a very small percentage of the entire students) seem to be underrepresented and not rewarded.
