Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I think the Engineering faculty at Pensacola andMechanical Engineering
I think the Engineering faculty at Pensacola and the curriculum were more than adequate to enable me to succeed in my field.

Of greater value than the education I received were the friends I made, the mentoring I received and the character building rules that kept me in line. I would gladly trade the party society and free rules of my sister's State University for the rigid and at times trying rules of PCC. From those rules, I learned integrity, promptness and the ability to work with the "system" which is not unlike what we face in working for any business or corporation. That flexibility allows us to succeed in any job. After being out of school for 13 years, I've learned life's success depends more on the person and less on the knowledge they gain while in school. As a father of 3 (soon to be 4) children, married for 9 years, and now leading a team of 26 people, I would say that attending PCC was a key step in equipping me for success.

Question
Before finishing high school I had decided thatAverageNursing
Before finishing high school I had decided that I wanted to go to a Christian college. I wanted to major in nursing and my choice of college was down to PCC or BJU. I was going to be paying for my own schooling and the only place I could really afford was PCC. To be honest at first I did not want to go because I had heard about all the negative things. However, after attending I found out it really wasn't all that bad. Yes, some of the negative things that are talked about are true, but then again, everything depends on your attitude. It is not that much different from being at home under your parents or standards of your church. Yes, there are some frustrating things, but if you decide in your heart that this is where God would have you and that you are only going to have to be there for four years, then it is bearable. So the point is, it is all about your attitude. ;)

I will be a senior this coming fall in the nursing program and I have learned so much. If you are interested in nursing this is an EXCELLENT program. I am so glad I attended PCC and not BJU because the knowledge and skill that I have attained is not comperable to some of my friends who atteneded BJU's program. I would also like to add in a little blurb about the new campus church pastor Neal Jackson. He is an awesome man with a genuine heart for God and the students. So if you are a high school student who wants to live for God and grow spiritually as well as attending one of the best nursing programs in the nation then pray about attending PCC. :)

Question
I had actually wanted to go to anotherEducation
I had actually wanted to go to another Christian College, but the Lord closed that door and opened the door to go to PCC and I am thankful for it. Yes, it is strict. I had friends who took the handbook just to laugh at it. I went into it with the philosophy that every rule that seemed weird or extreme was there because someone had done something foolish that required it. I did not take the rules as legalistic or an expectation of how I would live the rest of my life, but as a salt shaker to help me see that I'm not the only person my age who loves God and that because I am salt in a lost world that I need to hold myself to a high standard so as not to stumble those around me. I received FANTASTIC preparation to be a teacher. I was ready to handle a multi-grade classroom or a large single-grade room; I've done both. The accredidation part has been somewhat of a headache because of the state that I moved to, but I didn't do as much research as I should have on getting it either. A few classes that count toward a master's will fix the problem. I loved the education, the music, the friends I made and the structure of the campus. I had to be to work at 6:30 in the morning,so I was thankful that my roommates could not be awake all night. I was not there because my parents made me go there or one of the girls there for an MRS degree. I was there for an excellent education and I got it. I would go there again.
