My boss/coworkers consistently tell me what a hardOther
My boss/coworkers consistently tell me what a hard worker I am and that I am doing well. That is in part due to my early training as a child, but it is also due to the fact that I could not goof off at PCC, I had to get my work done on time, even if it meant not going shopping, or spending a nice saturday inside in the library. You can't skip work, or fudge a deadline in the real world, neither should you do so in your preparation for the real world. Life has rules, so PCC may have rules that are strict and strange, but they prepare you for real life.

I chose to go to PCC, just as many others chose it. The difference is that I realized that whining doesn't do any good. There were some rules I didn't agree with, and some I down right hated, but whining didn't do any good, so I didn't (ok, so sometimes I did, but I tried to keep my trap shut:))

PCC has great education, the teachers are really nice, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I did have two not so nice teachers, but that's not bad out of four years, and they weren't even in my major.

There were hypocrites in the student body and the faculty to some extent (mainly the student body) in fact, there are several people that if I ever see them again, As the saying goes it will be too soon.PCC is not for people who want to party all night, or who don't care about doing well in college. As I said I didn't have much trouble with the rules just because I didn't see the need to break them, they weren't hurting me. If you don't want to work, then don't go, but if you want to be in a good school then go. But it is definitely not for everyone, and I say this as a former female student, since the rules are a lot stricter for the women.

Question
Let me just say for the record thatAverageNursing
Let me just say for the record that the rules at PCC give you the same freedoms Paul enjoyed in the Roman jail all of those years ago. Yes, indeed, it kinda makes you sympathize with and even envy inmates at local prisons, because at least they can say whatever they want.HOWEVER, as much as I grate against the rules, I must say that the nursing program there is excellent. I would not attend another nursing school for anything. There is nothing second rate about the education they offer in my field. Students graduating with a BSN from PCC have never had problems finding jobs. I would not trade my experiences there for anything, and I think Paul would say the same thing about the prisons he stayed in.

Question
To respond to the "lawyer" that commented aboutEnglish
To respond to the "lawyer" that commented about his inability to get into first tier law schools, I propose that his inability came as a result of his own ineptness or lack of intelligence rather than PCC's academics. I, too, graduated from PCC. While I agree that PCC's lack of accredidation may provide some hindrance to getting into graduate schools, the hindrance is only minor. I applied and was accepted to numerous first tier law schools. Several provided me all-expenses-paid trips to visit their schools. I received many generous scholarships (including offers from the top five law schools) and several offers of full scholarships. I am presently attending a top-25 law school on a full academic scholarship. What the other poster likely forgot to tell you is that GPA counts for law school but not nearly as much as your LSAT score. You can graduate from Harvard with a 4.0 but if you don't score well on the LSAT, you're not going to a first tier school. My educated guess is that the other poster bombed the LSAT, which would be his fault not PCC's fault. (For those wondering, I didn't just get a lucky on the LSAT. I'm doing pretty well at my school. I'm in the top 1% of my class. So, apparently the PCC academics that most other posters are trashing provided me a better education than the Ivy League academics provided their students attending my law school.)As for the rules, despite the many negative comments, PCC is a great place to attend. Each derogative comment comes from a student who chose to attend the school. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. People always have and always will complain about rules, but people always have known and always will know that rules breed discipline and discipline builds character. To me, putting up with rules for four years was worth it to gain the education and character that enabled me to attend any law school I wanted to attend.
