Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I would suggest that anyone thinking about goingQuite BrightEnglish
I would suggest that anyone thinking about going to Wheaton College seriously think twice about why they're going there. If it's to get Christian profs, I ask why you fear being taught by non-believers. Is your faith living and strong enough to withstand a little trial? To put it bluntly, the relations between the administration and the students sucks. The dean of male students is probably the most reviled man on campus. If you ever meet him, you'll understand. The students here tend to be generally nice to your face, but reticent and judgmental behind your back. If someone has a problem with you, you'll probably never hear about it from them. Kids here also have a nasty penchant for ratting each other out. Because of the rules and the history at Wheaton, any "deviant" behavior you engage in will throw serious doubt as to the state of your soul to your fellow students. Plus side: Chicago is under an hour away by train. In short: come here if you have to, but it had better be for a good reason. "I wanted to have Christian professors" is not a legitimate reason for everyone. Go somewhere you'll be challenged in your life and your faith. Wheaton won't do either.

Question
I graduated a little over a year agoAverageCommunications
I graduated a little over a year ago and have since vowed never to set foot on that campus again. This school has some serious issues, and even good Christian people seeking spiritual and academic growth often cannot handle the extra baggage. I have never been to a more socially awkward place filled with that many completely fake, self-absorbed people. There's an unsettling combination of rich snobs combined with a large percentage of people who seem to have just been living in a bubble their whole life. Don't be decieved by the fake smiles and friendliness that most freshmen and transfers find themselves greeted by. It's all a big, painful joke. The faculty, on the other hand, are wonderful, acessible, and helpful. They actually care (!) about their students. The campus is beautiful and the food is great, although it seems to have dropped off somewhat in recent years. Still, despite some of the positive points of light, I should have tried to salvage my college experience by transferring to a more "normal" college.
