Smith has:
1) An incredible poetry center with visiting poets.
2) One of the finest art musuems in the college world.
3) Dorms that are gorgeous. Mine has a gym, a cafeteria, wood floors, and a hotel-like posh lobby.
4) Bright, interesting, powerful, engaging women.
5) A five college consortium. If you need to meet men, they are there.

Smith is AMAZING! One visit tipped Smith in favor of Yale University. You will never be surrounded by a group of more intelligent, supportive, passionate women, and the academics are flawless. Oh yeah, and the campus is gorgeous.

Smith is an incredible chance of a lifetime.Quite BrightMusic - Composition/Theory
Smith is an incredible chance of a lifetime. Even though it's an all girls school, don't think that you're going to be surrounded by ladies 24/7, that's not the case at all. Of course that really depends all on you. If you are a curious individual who likes to go out into the town and meet people from the surrounding four colleges, you'll be fine. I am a first year who's friends have almost always been guys, and I have so many cool girls as friends. That's certainly something that I couldn't have seen happen in high school for me. But make community connections. I started hanging out in a local record store and now I'm in a popular local band that tours alot. You just have to be willing to go into to town and meet people, cause otherwise you will be trapped within the "Smith bubble". It's sad when I meet seniors that haven't gone to the academy of music, or the little movie theatre downtown, events at other schools like Hampshire Halloween. The best education is one that is more than just school work, it's about learning how to deal and understand the world better with your new found knowledge. The faculty are wonderful instructors. Granted a few live in their own world that's a little out there, they are still incredible teachers. They respond to any problems you may have any time. I was supposed to get tutoring once for an essay I was writing for english, and my tutor was sick and all the other tutors were taken, so I was in a bit of a panic. I called my professor, and she found me a tutor that she personally had sought out for me. You are always able to talk to your professors during office hours. If you can't make it because of class, they will take time whenever they can to help you. What you need to know before you attend is that Smith is a place were if you are a motivated, bright, creative person this is the place for you. I had zero friends in high school because everyone thought I was too smart. Not to say, "look at me", but just to say that I have more friends at this school than I could ever have imagined. Students will help eachother and work well together in the intellectual process:)
