I can't say anything bad about MSU.Quite BrightNursing
I can't say anything bad about MSU. The people are so friendly, especially if you're a freshman. Everyone's looking to meet new friends. Living in the dorms your first year helps a lot with making friends. I suggest using Room Sync to find your roommate. That's what I did and she's one of my best friends now. If you put yourself out there, you'll make friends just fine. People that you sit next to in class will become friends, people down your hall, in your building, people who are in the same clubs as you are. I personally didn't do greek life and I met a ton of people so if you want to join a frat or sorority it I'm sure you'd meet even more people.

Classes are extremely difficult but profs are helpful. I suggest going to office hours and actually paying attention in class. I had a few profs who new my name by the end of the semester. You just have to remember that you're paying for their time and to use it! Ask questions, sit in the front, go to office hours.

Most of my profs spoke english but the math department has a lot of profs that are foreign and most of the TAs in math and science are foreign too but just because they have broken english doesn't mean they don't care about you as a student.

I had basketball and football tickets and i suggest everyone do the same even if it's not your thing. Going to the sports games in probably where you feel the most proud to be a spartan. Everything is green and white and everyone comes together. MSU is a great school and anyone who wants to leave probably partied too much and didn't take advantage of the resources MSU has. Don't skip classes and you'll do fine. Take time to study but work hard and play hard!

Question
If I could go back in the futureSuper BrilliantCommunications
If I could go back in the future and not go here, I would. I'm transferring to get out of this place. It's terrible.

What do I hate the most? Where to start?!!
Let's see ..
Some professors are foreign and have such heavy accents, you can't understand them!
The math department is terrible. Go take your math classes at LCC.
The campus police, I mean security guards. They LOVE writing you tickets. Speeding, parking, MIP. They are money makers.

Sexual assaults. It's a huge problem on campus and campus police will not investigate worth anything.

The people. They are high school cliques and it's annoying. The only exception to make friends outside of that is being in a club or sport or Greek life.

Relationships. Most just want sex.
The town. There's nothing to do. Very few bars for a college this size. And Lansing is ugly and terrible.

Tuition. 13k for instate is crazy.
Financial aid. They are slow and don't give you anything.
The classes. They make you take these useless classes.
The off campus apartments. They are all terrible. Small, and expensive.
The weather. It's cold. It's sucks when your walking to class and nearly freeze to death.
Now it's seems the only nice people are from Detroit. These kids are so hard to make friends with or try to be in a real relationship because they just want FWB. This school gets so frustrating. I just wish I would have picked another college. This is why I am transferring.

Question
Coming to MSU has been a great experience.Quite BrightAnthropology
Coming to MSU has been a great experience. I was always very shy and timid, but MSU has really helped me get out of my shell. The programs at MSU are phenomenal, some of the best in the nation and even world. The campus is beautiful. There's always parties, activities or something to do at night. The sporting events are great. There's a ton of little shops and restaurants that are all very close to campus. Most of the students are very friendly and nice. I've had some crappy professors and I've also had some very great professors. Yes, the coursework is challenging, and yes, you must study hard and often or you will not do well in most courses. That is to be expected at any large university. I would recommend MSU to anyone.
