Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I really like the campus.Quite Bright
I really like the campus. I got into U of M and realize that would be more prestigious. But Michigan State has more of a "closed" gated campus environment. There is always something to do on campus and always someone new to meet. Yeah, it's a big school but that what I like about it: always new people to meet. And yeah, I like to have a social life. The business school is a beautiful complex and I like my professors. We have alot of Adjunct and GTA's teaching but they are actually sometimes more in tune than professors.

Question
Please do not ever live in University Housing,Quite Bright
Please do not ever live in University Housing, you are parying top dollar to live in a slum. This University is abeaurocracy that is incapable of solving minor problems. For example, if you have a problem with your bill, you end up having to talk to five or six different departments who give you different answers for everything.

There is absolutely no student agency. If a mentor, professor, or anyone else with authority accuses you of anything, the judicial system is not set up to work fairly.

A LOT of the teachers speak horrible english. The math department is absolutely terrible, and a lot of the buildings are negligably accessible for differently-abled persons.

I will say that that they have an excellent Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities, and an excellent office for LBGTA Affairs.East Lansing is a very anti-student location. It has a habit of passing laws that negatively affect students, and the student populations. Most recently, the city attempted to displace hundreds of students by passing a law that would allow the razing of several frat houses, and students housing situations. They also passed a law that considered a "riot" to be a gathering of five or more people. The police often have a tendency to throw tear gas into peaceful crowds of students.

The J-school at MSU is thoroughly corrupted by bureaucratic politics. Don't fool yourselves, the sole purpose for the 'Knight Center' at the school is to keep the school running, not to advance environmental journalism. It's a sham. They're very elitist when they have absolutely nothing to be elite, let alone proud, of. International students are social outcasts and so is anyone without some hidden political agenda. I worked my butt off, was honest and integral and it did nothing for me here. Everything I got, I got on my own.
