Michigan State University has changed my life soNot so brightTelecommunications
Michigan State University has changed my life so much that I don't even know where to start so I will get to the point.

My Life BEFORE Michigan State University:

I'm from Southern California.
I'm Hispanic.
Had no Father figure whatsoever in my life.
Southern California made me superficial.
Money, Cars, Social Status consumed my mind, body and soul.
I was ignorant.
I hated life.
I had no confidence.
I thought that EVERYONE was better than me.
I had the lowest self-esteem ever.
I had no self-respect.
I was scatter brained.
I had no direction.
I always took up stereotypical labor jobs because thats what I thought my self-worth was.
I was always, always depressed.
I contemplated Suicide many times.
I thought that the white man was always here to hold hispanics down and I also thought that the white man had everything.

and the list can go on and on......
My Life AFTER Michigan State University:

I'm still from Southern California
I'm still Hispanic
I consider MSU a stepfather to me because of the experiences and education that it has provided me.
I am now a humble and grounded person.
I Look forward to Life now
I Look Forward to MY Future
I found MY Self-Confidence.
I have self-respect.
I have purpose.
I have direction.
I have substance.
My newly found confidence has helped me to overcome depression.
I now find myself applying to jobs with starting salaries of $60,000+
I realize that white America is not here to hold minorities down. The student body is mostly white and I have made many great friends. I never experienced any racism. If anything I realized that there are a lot of white Americans who are poor and who are struggling to make it through college. It was an eye opener for me.

Overall I cannot put a price tag on my experiences at MSU. It changed my life. I feel that I could not have gotten these life changing experiences from most other universities. I did have tough times but I stuck it out. I learned perseverance. I was better for it in the end and believe me I went through some sh!t but I made it through and got my degree. I found who I was in the process.

Go Green!Go White!Go Spartans!
oh yeah, two more things, MSU has Tom Izzo, ha, he's the sh!t and MSU has the best looking white chicks ever.

This school is a great place to meetAverageBusiness - Management and Administration
This school is a great place to meet new friends, especially if you are from Michigan - most of the students here are. The teachers are nice and easy to make appointments with. I found the services to be friendly too - student accounting, registrar, financial aid all staffed with helpful people who are patient especially when I get confused. Thank you for three years of a good experience.

Question
Michigan State is awesome.BrightCommunications
Michigan State is awesome. It has a big campus but after your first couple weeks it really doesn't seem that bad and the campus itself is beautiful with a lot of trees and green grass.

Academics are very good here and you will definitely be challenged. There are plenty of resources available to students if they are struggling with their coursework.

All freshman are required to live in the dorms, and it is the best experience, especially if placed in a dorm with mostly all freshman. Many students have their doors open and are real cool. Many kids move on to an apartment or house though after freshman year, and there are plenty of options.

Social life at Michigan State is great if you take advantage of all the activities they have to offer. There are a ton of clubs and IM or club sports teams to join. Football season is one of the best times of year at MSU. Every Saturday is full of students and fans tailgating having a great time and the student section is a great experience. Basketball games are incredible as well. Being in the Izzone is the best.

There are tons of parties every weekend and with a great surrounding city of East Lansing with tons of great places to eat, it makes for very entertaining weekends. All in all if you are looking for a big campus with a bunch of people, with good academics, prestigious athletic programs, tons of ways to get involved, great surrounding city, great parties and just to have a blast while getting a good education, come to Michigan State.
