The J-school at MSU is thoroughly corrupted by bureaucratic politics. Don't fool yourselves, the sole purpose for the 'Knight Center' at the school is to keep the school running, not to advance environmental journalism. It's a sham. They're very elitist when they have absolutely nothing to be elite, let alone proud, of. International students are social outcasts and so is anyone without some hidden political agenda. I worked my butt off, was honest and integral and it did nothing for me here. Everything I got, I got on my own.

Assualt, corruption, harrassment, greed.
These four words sum up my experience at the J-school's graduate program. J-school graduates are supposed to be trained as leaders in the communications field. But if you're female, you're already at a disadvantage since the faculty is mostly male and all hold the view that a woman's place is either in the kitchen or the whorehouse and nowhere near the newsroom. How can they train anyone to be unbiased when they hold such obvious biases?

Money for the program was spent on exotic, international family vacations by the faculty. Also, they'd falsely claim that expensive items from their office had been stolen (when they were the only ones with access to the office) so they could make up some of the difference for program money they spent somewhere else.FYI, if you're a member of any minority, they'll try to wash you out of the program faster than you can "discrimination." It's disgusting.

I had a miserable time at school, graduated, and now I don't have a job. I have been working picking up garbage as it is the only job I can get.
