Worst vet school in the country IMO.Quite BrightPreVet and Veterinary
Worst vet school in the country IMO. Professors are so out of touch with the reality of vet med that it is pathetic. Hours spent on pointless rote memorization of facts that could easily be looked up and have no pertinence to real life vet med. Do yourself a favor. Don't waste money on this vet school if you actually want to graduate competently enough to practice vet med and without a head full of mindless gibberish.

Question
The history department at NC State is veryQuite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
The history department at NC State is very good. Around half of the history professors have Ivy League pHDs and the rest are Ivy League equivalents, ie Berkely, Duke, etc. One commenter said that her classes weren't tough enough, to which I say, she took the wrong classes. Because of NC State's size, there are more extracurricular opportunities than more "prestigious" institutions with much smaller student bodies. To me, the overall experience was superb. I am now going back for a masters degree. I have taken classes at Duke and Oxford and they were no better than the average class I had at State, and below the better courses there. If for some reason you really really want to go a small school, that is the only reason I can think of to not go to NC State; however, for me personaly, the large student body was quite stimulating.

Question
I love this school.BrightMechanical Engineering
I love this school. I grew up dying to go to PennState, then when I applied for colleges, applied to here, Virginia Tech, RIT, Perdue, and PennState. I got in to all, and visited them... and found I loved NCSU instantly. The campus is pretty, there is a lot available, you can actually approach teachers and faculty. Even the maintenance people are nice, they always smile and nod. This school has been worth it, even while paying for out of state. For engineering the best thing to do, is go straight to the co-op program. There's a building right on campus that specializes in it, and helps you get one. Its not very well advertised, but they do a very good job, and are with you all the way. The career fairs here are one of the largest in the nation, so you have a lot of opportunities, and the school has a very good reputation with a lot of companies, so that will help. However, as others have mentioned, it is more of an engineering school. There are some other specialties, but technology and engineering is NCSU's forte, so if you're considering a humanity it might not be the best (unless you're undecided, there are plenty of classes for you to test different classes in until you decide.)
