I've been to other Universities and this placeQuite BrightBiology
I've been to other Universities and this place is ridiculously difficult. The most frequently taken classes ironically happen to be the worst. The sciences (biology) are outrageously difficult. There are some good teachers for non-science classes(Drama). Also the Spanish department is very strict as well. This school is more concerned about its US News ranking and profitability than it's students. So unless you were born a prodigy and everything comes naturally to you expect to get your butt kicked in any class. The students are generally nice. However some are just trying to see how well you are doing in class. The classes are semi-competitive because the teachers make the courses so hard. Everyone is trying to make it into that top percentile so they won't fail, even if dumping the weak link in the study group is necessary. Also the teachers have no reservations about failing you. Yes there is a such thing as an F and UNC would be more than happy to give you as many as you desire. So welcome to UNC..it'll have you saying Academic Probation faster than Go Heels!

Question
I have been at this school now forQuite BrightAthletics/Training
I have been at this school now for four years. I am a starter on the Football team and I have to admit, we have some serious problems. The teachers here are extremely anti-sports. Our basketball team is a joke and our new coach is a pompous bastard. Why did I come to this school? I would have received a lot more recognition at Clemson or NC State and could be headed to the pros after last season. If you are an athlete, DO NOT attend UNC as they have no experience taking their athletes to the next level. The old coaches did...Dick Crum, Dean Smith etc. These new prep coaches have no clue.

Question
Do not come here for technical fields.Bright
Do not come here for technical fields. Most students graduate in 4.5-5 years with low GPAs in technical departments. There are 150-200 people in a class unless you are in the smaller departments. Faculty for the most part tends to be focused more on research than student success. Faculty in smaller departments care more about students, Academic Advising is horrible.
