Okay everyone, I'd like to say that myBrightJournalism
Okay everyone, I'd like to say that my time at Ithaca has been the worst in my life. People here were relentless in bullying me because they thought

a)slow
b)weak and alone(which I was) and overweight
a)I was actually in the honors college for Ithaca but I felt that many of my peers thought I was mentally handicapped for not being outgoing like other students-never mind that all my tests were A-B. Both the faculty and students were very rude and condescending towards me as a freshman while I was there.

I remember working in a lab with some complete idiot and I did not know one of the answers. This slack-jawed fool then went to the TA and said "well maybe she's just too dumb". I didn't say anything because I was too hurt and outraged that some retard like him could say that to a TA and then have the TA laugh!? Not even in middle school would this have happened.

The students here know IC is a dump and pretend to be smarter than the rest of the kids here-not so. Everyone is so critical and judgemental while being boarderline brain-dead themselves.

Second, faculty have a low opinion of you too. They are absent-minded and bully you just like the students. I actually had a professor bully me because of my weight. Disgusting.

b) when I came to IC I was slightly above normal BMI but thats no one elses concern right? WRONG. IC has some of the meanest girls living in the dorm rooms. I remember one night some awful girl started screaming at me through my door. Screaming obscenities and all this crap about me being a "fat b*#*@". Everyone in the hall heard what was going on but no one did anything. No one talked to me afterwards or reported this demon from hell to an RA.

I had to suffer in silence for six months with witches living in the dorm-constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY messing with me.

Not to my surprise many other girls in the overcrowded dorms were in tears after about two months anyway from all of the bitchiness and drama. DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA.

IC is alot like high school but can be even worse at times because there is even less adult-supervision-and its expensive. I really recommend going to a community-college for one or two years to save money or just going to a larger college. Students with the few neurons that these girls had jammed tightly together is a receipe for DRAMA and misery.

You've been warned.

Question
Ithaca College is a small college located withinAverageMusic Education
Ithaca College is a small college located within a very quiet and subtle town. I entered this school as a music education major solely for the music school and its reputation. I was shocked to see the current status of the music school, it really must of went downhill. The faculty are very self-absorbed. One of my professors could not see music in front of him well. I feel my education is not up to par with the other highly reputable music programs such as Crane, Eastman, St. Rose, Five Towns or Fredonia. I am happy to say that I am transferring next year to either St.Rose or Crane next year and without a doubt will enjoy myself and be a better player.

Question
Ithaca College let way too many students inQuite BrightPhilosophy
Ithaca College let way too many students in to the school this year, and it resulted in lot of dim-witted people enrolling. The 76% admissions rate is a joke. There are a number of classes in which a teacher asks the simplest of questions and one or two students are being called on again and again because other students don't know, or don't care.

If you're not into binge drinking, smoking pot daily, and random hook-ups the social scene here is pretty unforgiving. Even if you DO want to party here, the scene is pretty lame, and most students end up going to Cornell to drink, though IC has endless options for smoking pot or rolling E (though the former is much more prevalent). The school tries to give kids who want to have fun without getting boozed up an option with "IC After Dark" but the programs are so boring no one wants to attend them. This, I know, is kind of indicative of all colleges. The problem is at Ithaca, you don't have a big city environment to escape to, you have Ithaca, NY town of 23,000. There is little to do if you're not shit-faced.I will not be returning to the school.
