Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I attended Pace University for two years, thenBrightPsychology
I attended Pace University for two years, then transferred out to my local state college. I enjoyed being in the city and made a great group of friends, but two years was enough. This school has more cons than pros. It is mostly a commuter school, so there isn't much of a social life. The freshman dorms are a good way to make friends, but the upperclassmen dorms are antisocial and you have to make an effort to make friends. I lived in 33 Beekman, the newly built dorm during sophomore year, and not only was it antisocial, the building itself had many kinks. We once had a fire alarm at 3 am due to poor maintenance in the laundry, there were times the water did not come when using the sink, and the wi-fi is awful. The cafeteria has the worst food I've ever had in my life, to the point a petition was made to terminate the contract with Chartwells. Most students signed it, but Pace did nothing about it.

Most of the male students are gay, so if you are a female interested in dating, you will have no luck here. Pace offers all students here a $19,000 scholarship but even with that, the whole tuition with dorming is about $40k, which is still expensive. Also, all the money paying for Pace is not worth it, especially since it is #188 in the national rankings and there are better/cheaper schools out there that are worth the money. Because of the expenses and Pace having no sense of community with it being a commuter school, most students want to transfer out. My state college is much cheaper and affordable, worth a much higher ranking, and gives the college experience/a sense of community. Although I enjoyed my time at Pace, I am much happier with my new college.

Question
Being a commuter andQuite BrightComputer Science
Being a commuter and going to this school is horrible. It feels like a job. You go to school, do work, then go home. It is difficult to make friends if you are not dorming, it is also hard to attend activities since some are at night.

Question
The Business program at this school is great,BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
The Business program at this school is great, except for you occasional foreign professor that you cant under stand. But the school its self is awful, unhelpful, and will milk you for ever dollar that you have. When it comes to your financial aid it will go down every year, as tuition goes up, unless you call the office of student accounts 100 times and freak out on them. I have been charged $75 for paint chips on my wall that I was told I would not be fined for, $70 for being in a friends room that smelt like weed (we were not smoking), $50 two times for a lost mail key, and $25 for lost ID card. When in real life this could all be replaced for under $50. Their logic is ridiculous also it does not matter if you have a valid argument against your charges they will charge you anyway. And your always "guilty by association" so if you like to party DONT DO IT IN THE DORMS YOU WILL GET CAUGHT AND FINED. Most of the food here is awful it will give you horrible stomach cramps and the runs, try to keep your meal plan small as possible and buy food at the market. Also the people here suck because its such a broad spectrum majority of students are performing arts or business and those personalities clash so much, dont expect to make any friends out side of your floor in Marias tower freshaman year, and expect to be left with 4 friends by the time your a senior. If I have the luxury, time, and effort to transfer I would in a heart beat. My advice: AVOID THIS SCHOOL.
