Penn State offered a fairly secure environment inQuite BrightElectrical Engineering
Penn State offered a fairly secure environment in which to really grow. If you are a country boy/girl, the sheer size may scare you off and make you uncomfortable but Penn State's size is it's biggest positive aspect. Those who say there is nothing to do but drink are not looking very hard for things to do. My entire time there I went to 4 parties, but was never without something to do. Between sporting events, student and professional music/theater, and various other activities, there was always something to keep me entertained.

I was initially (and completely) negative about attending PSU- University Park. I was being a snob and I was unsure about its reputation - was I bettr off going to a private school like Lehigh with a more solid range of students as opposed to a state school? Ironically i had my heart set on U.Mich. When that did not work out for me, I began to debate b/w UMd and PSU. Even if I had gotten into UMich, i do not think I would be as happy as I am here. The school is unreal - from the town (which is totally uncomparable - there is no better college town - i don't care WHAT city you are in) to the nature of the people to the professors to the surprisingly mixed-in-size classes - i have been overwhelmed - and so apologetic for ever doubting this place. it's magic!

After 4 years @ PSU, i would definently do it all over again, they key to having a great time and taking advantage of everything there is to do, is to be outgoing. With 40 thousand kids here you cant just sit in you dorm or appartment talking on instant messenger. Too many people complain there is no big city around, but in my opinion state college has all the pros of a big city with none of the downsides.

Many of the proplr who talk negatively of this place do so becuse they are either overly arrogant and like to complain or brag abot the BMW their mommy bought them, or shut-ins complaing because girls don like to talk to losers that only study and play computer games.come see what its all about here, well worth the trip
