If I had to go to college forQuite BrightBiology
If I had to go to college for 4 years again, I would definitly come back to SVC. I can't believe that some people don't like it here. Too many kids only enjoy college for the parties, which are a huge waste of time and money. Find yourself a good group of people who are on the same intellectual level as you are, and you'll do amazing here and someday all those kids who partied their days away in college will pick up your trash. SVC is a wonderful school and they really try to do a good job in educating and housing students and keeping them happy. But some are just ungrateful and expect their residence hall to be the Hilton, which is ridiculous. If you are down to earth, a genuinely respectful person, and want to go to college because of academic reasons, then this is the college for you.

The History department is wonderful! Most of the faculty at SVC are very kind. However, many of faculty members and administrators are very religious and act very condescending toward people who are not. The administration is also completely incompetent. I could not recommend coming here to anyone with a brain. Save yourself years of frustration and go somewhere else. The liberal arts aspect of the college is dying and is becoming a right-wing prep school. What happened to Catholicism being open and accepting?

Question
SVC gave me a very solid basis forBusiness - Management and Administration
SVC gave me a very solid basis for learning and growing and had a reasonable reputation when I graduated. They were going through an identity crisis then but have seemed to regain a sense of purpose and seem to be committed to growing their academic and cultural reputation. There are many first rate colleges and universities in Western PA so competition is fierce, but in my opinion, St. Vincent is heading in the right direction without giving up on their core principles.

The campus is beautiful but small, so if you want a city social life, go to Duquesne. My experience with SVC as an alumnus has been tremendous and the overwhelming majority of SVC alums I meet are very proud of their ties to the school.
