This school is the most depressing place I'veAverageBiology
This school is the most depressing place I've ever seen. It's very difficult to go to this school and be a generally happy person. It sucks the life out of you from the very old dorms to the graveyard and freezing walks to class every morning on the saint Benedict path. I started my freshman year with 22 kids in my pod and already 7 kids have transferred to a different university and 4 have dropped out entirely. The campus looks nice and they do give very good scholarships, but please understand there is a lot more to this place that kills individuality and spirit. You are a number here and not a person. Please for your own sake pay a little more and go to a different school.

Question
Hopefully this advice can help answer questions thatAverageBusiness - Management and Administration
Hopefully this advice can help answer questions that future students might have. Plain and simple, if you are strictly looking for a good education (4 years of absolutely nothing but learning and planning for your future) then you should come here. Now if you are the type of person who needs to have fun in their life, then please do not come here because there is nothing to do any day or night of the week. You will be lucky to find a room to hang out in, not to mention the whole security staff is completely strict and power hungry. My advice to any student would be to look into other schools and if you can not find a school that has as good as an education then come here, but if you find a school with an equal education then I suggest to go there so that you dont kill yourself of boredom.

S.V.C. developed a strong sense of purpose and community. If I had undergraduate days to do over I would read a few more popular novels, attend more classes and not worry about building a social life. It will come of its own. I think I would pay a bit more attention to the assets of nearby cities and colleges and watch out for the potential to become isolated from the greater world which is the major weakness I see in S.V.C.'s strong community.
