I went to Temple Universtiy on a fullBrightTelecommunications
I went to Temple Universtiy on a full Track and Field Scholarship, so I am eternally grateful just for that. They paid for everything...I ran and collected individual and team titles. Practice was at 6am, and we had track meets on the weekend, so I didn't notice whether the nightlife was great or not-I was in bed at 9pm.

My dorms were nice soph and jr year (white/1300) but first year in peabody sucked!!! Community baths in a dorm that has to be 50 years old or more. First year classes were a joke!!! I got mostly b's, though, because of an attendance policy that states that more than 6 absences lowers a grade down a level. I actually had one professor tell me I should come to help my classmates who were struggling, which at the time I thought was preposterous. I can understand now why she said what she said.

My professors in the School of Communication and Theater were some great people, each in his or her own way. Always accessible and eager to help.

Thankfully I never had to wait in the extremely long lines when I needed administrative help (I always felt badly for those who did). Getting a job on campus was easy, but the pay was slightly more than slave labor. Unless you are smart enough to major in the computer science field.I am a tropical weather lover, so the winter was a bit much for me. Overall, if you want a school where you can just come, work and get a degree..Temple is for you.

Question
I am one of the lucky ones thatSociology
I am one of the lucky ones that managed to make it out of Temple in less than five years. Honestly, my experience at Temple had been a rough one throughout all the four years. I found it hard to make friends being an out-of-state student. And many people are right..social groups don't mix, there is a lot of red tape in the administration, our advisors pretty much suck...among many things. All I can say that at the end, it builds character because I don't feel life has changed much since I left Temple University. I am still able to deal with things that are thrown my way. This was definitely not the "college experience" I wanted to get, but i don't regret it at all. I say Temple is for people who are independent or want to be independent.

Question
Temple is a pretty good school.Super Brilliant
Temple is a pretty good school. I originally went to the Tepper School at Carnegie Mellon but I didn't really like Pittsburgh so I came to Temple. It's the city school for my area and I know plenty of people who go there. Scholastically I've been pretty unimpressed. I think that the curriculum isn't all that intense. I'd like to see that taken care of. Otherwise, Temple is trying to make a name for itself so there is a ton of building going on. Over the next 5-10 years, don't be surprised to see Temple's name become nationally (and possibly internationally) renowned. It's on the "up and up" so a degree from Temple will have a lot more pull than one might expect. Also, expect it to get harder and harder to get into Temple. Now the really negative stuff: Don't step foot of campus, don't expect to get special treatment, and don't expect the much from the administration. The bureaucracy at Temple is worse than the US government. Everything is a form. Look into the Honors program if you want a more caring and supportive staff. Overall Temple has both good and bad points but it's getting better every year.
