Sigh...Randolph College.Quite BrightPreMed and Medical
Sigh...Randolph College...My first semester is coming to a close, and I find myself with a feeling of exasperation and depressing wastefulness. I'm sure there are a lot of great professors here, but in some departments, especially science, there are very limited choices and those choices are not the best.

Picking classes for your schedule is difficult since there is a limited number of courses offered, and you can get stuck taking a class with a awful professor at an awful time.

My English professor was incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable on his subject, but he had a disgustingly condescending attitude and a rude disregard for my class.

The social scene is very very divided between athletes and non-athletes. About half the student body is on a sports team, and the other half is a bunch of weirdos. It's just depressing.

If you aren't an athlete or feel like you're a Randolph "original," as the slogan goes, then please don't come here.

The college is unheard of and I doubt a degree from here holds much weight. While there are good things happening here, you've really gotta fit into the particular Randolph type of person to expect to enjoy your time here. You probably applied here out of curiosity and they probably gave you a really tempting financial aid deal to lure you in...If you consider yourself a normal and chill person, DON'T TAKE IT. Go to community college for a couple years and then transfer into UVA or George Mason or something. Seriously. You've been warned.

This place is horrible! Never come here unless you wanna lose your confidence, your sight of your professional future and all your good qualities! The professors are so messed up; they are generally angry about life and want to take it out on students and feed their own ego. IF you are a party person who likes to drink and get high all the time, then then why don't you waste 40k and come here... or go to lynchburg college and get a better education and better life.. god if i only had a damn time machine!

Question
If you are considering Randolph College, I urgeQuite BrightJournalism
If you are considering Randolph College, I urge you to reconsider your decision. Simply put, no one has heard of the school, and the alumnae base is not strong and all. Aka, when you are looking for a job, good luck with the "career center" assisting you. There are at least 300+ better options out there than Randolph. I'd even recommend Lynchburg College, Liberty University, Sweet Briar (if you're a lady), Hampden-Sydney (gentlemen) over Randolph. The co-ed has changed the dynamics on this campus and they are certainly not worth your hard-earned money. The only positives? Very tight knit community--and it's easy to make friends.
