Hi truth be told Temple is a greatBrightBiology
Hi truth be told Temple is a great school if you are a business major. As for science its no ware near temple business. So basically if you want to be a biologist dont come here its a waste....People are also very segregate here for lunch when you go to anderson strip (u will know what that is) whits sit with whites blacks with black Asians with Asians Indians with Indians there are NO MIXTURES. Its sad and about the teachers some are AWESOME but some cant even say the subject they are teaching....to sum it up good school with bad things such as dont step out side of the campus unless you like getting rapped or mugged.

Question
Failed my foreign language course the first semester. Not so brightPsychology
Failed my foreign language course the first semester. Completely unrelated to my major (psych/pre-med0. I'm really upset that of the courses I took, only one was actually related to my major, and the foreign language made absolutely not sense unless you planned on treating patients in another country or something. I'm torn because I love this city and the people here. Yet failing a class sucks for self esteem and now I'm pretty jaded about wanting to come back.

Question
Hey, I am currently a freshman at temple,Quite BrightOther
Hey, I am currently a freshman at temple, majoring in Advertising. I was warned heavily about this school because of safety issues, but honestly, as long as you're not being stupid and wandering around outside TU campus by yourself, you should be fine. Other than the scheduled party nights (thurs-sat), there should be no reason why you would need to walk around outside TU campus--you probably will find that the subway is your best friend (just make sure you are with others after dark for safety).

The people here are so friendly, which is one of the reasons i decided to come to TU. Everyone has so much college pride, and yes, we still do cheer for our sorry football team. Temple tries so hard to accomodate you from your orientation, to welcome week, to weekly events on campus. There are always options for parties that youc an easily walk to, and if you start to dig a little, you can find a lot of fun things to do in philadelphia.

I would recommend getting an apt. asap because they usually are cheaper than the dorm life; but the dorms (especially communal dorm life) allows for you to become close to your hallmates. One negative aspect that i found freshman year was that it is very awkward to join any club as a freshman...i tried to go to a few meetings for a certain club, and was surrounded by upperclassmen and was quite intimidated.

Concerning acedemics...
a few of my friends are architecture majors and they always are doing work and are often bombarded with many projects at once..so be warned...many nights will be spent at the studio

you will meet at least 10 people who are film majors..it is very popular and TU is well known for it. It seems to accept mostly anyone, but you don't get to do anything "fun" your first few semesters. this is Temple's way of rooting through the masses of people who just think film is "cool".

I've spent most of my time in the school of theater and communications. The staff are very approachable and friendly. The classes are easy as long as you show up and participate. They are very straightfoward and there is no busywork. Temple is a great place to take fun and interesting classes. their GenEd program forces students to become well-rounded in their classes. As an Ad major, I didn't need a "real" math class, but had to take a GenEd math course...I took a stocks and investing class which was very useful
