The night life is very fun in theQuite BrightOther
The night life is very fun in the surrounding city of Philadelphia for people 21 and over. It is hard to "party" here in the city if you're under 21, you pretty much have to stay around campus. If you like food, come here. Philly has some good restaurants and that was my Friday night usually. There is a lot of shopping too downtown. It is VERY convenient to get other places. I took the train a lot on the weekends back home in Norther NJ and it wokred out great. Temple is overall fun. I liked it more each year i finished. I didnt like it when I was a freshman, but I think that is becasue I was uncomfortable in the dorms. The apartments around the campus are nice, but get ready to shell out some dough!

Question
Overall, Temple is not a bad school andBrightEnglish
Overall, Temple is not a bad school and it is populated with staff who overall do want to help you succeed. However my experiences lead me to conclude that compassion is not very high on their list at least when it concerns GPA. I was given a medical exception in 2007 but they still decided that serious illness was not an excuse for missing schoolwork. I've had personal tragedies for a few different semesters and a number of different professors that I've had at Temple really didn't seem to have any sort of compassion about it. "Oh well. Turn it in tomorrw and I'll deduct maybe two less points than I was going to". Then if you're disabled and have to go through their disabilities office, good luck. It has it's own set of problems. While I don't expect everything to be 100% perfect, for what I'm paying Temple, they could at least PRETEND to care when something horrible happens to either you or your loved ones. For them it's almost like "we're sorry. That's too bad. Take a number". The bright spot is there are professors that DO care and seem very eager to help you wherever they can and they deserve all the recognition they can get. Business as usual at Temple. Don't expect any sympathy from anyone. It's the "real world", baby. Everyone has problems. What makes you think your's are so important that you deserve an extention? Why did I enroll in this school?!?!?

Question
Temple is a pretty good school.Super Brilliant
Temple is a pretty good school. I originally went to the Tepper School at Carnegie Mellon but I didn't really like Pittsburgh so I came to Temple. It's the city school for my area and I know plenty of people who go there. Scholastically I've been pretty unimpressed. I think that the curriculum isn't all that intense. I'd like to see that taken care of. Otherwise, Temple is trying to make a name for itself so there is a ton of building going on. Over the next 5-10 years, don't be surprised to see Temple's name become nationally (and possibly internationally) renowned. It's on the "up and up" so a degree from Temple will have a lot more pull than one might expect. Also, expect it to get harder and harder to get into Temple. Now the really negative stuff: Don't step foot of campus, don't expect to get special treatment, and don't expect the much from the administration. The bureaucracy at Temple is worse than the US government. Everything is a form. Look into the Honors program if you want a more caring and supportive staff. Overall Temple has both good and bad points but it's getting better every year.
