Richmond is an excellent school for people who want a sold academic program combined with decent social life on the weekends. students work real hard during the week, even though one can manage to get by without putting in too much effort. once thursday rolls around, most everyone is out partying in the dorms or in downtown richmond. i considered transferring my freshman year because of the segregated housing on campus, but this has changed this fall with guys and girls living on both sides of the lake. this change has made social interaction much easier and the school a lot less conservative. the school sponsors few entertaining events on campus, so much of the social scene revolves around frat parties, where students drink up all the free beer their bodies can consume. i enjoy richmond's small size, which gives the campus a sense of intimacy where one can walk anywhere and see someone they know. richmond is not for everyone, but if you like beer and a whole bunch of friendly white people from the northeast, then it's surely the place to be.

The University of Richmond is a great place to spend your college years. It's a small university which enables you to get involved in whatever you want, while still having plenty of people to meet and Division 1a sports.

Question
I'm pleased with Richmond.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I'm pleased with Richmond. I'm in my second of three years. The curriculum is solid - I'm pleased with what I'm learning. They school is really in a jam, though, as it's at a stage where it's moving from marginally bright students to entirely brilliant students. So in some classes, you'll "carry the class." I didn't want that to happen in college...too much like high school...but I can deal with it. Students are obsessed with aesthetics - these are pretty people, no two ways about it, with a pretty campus to match. The university is trying to "improve itself," which is really just a kinder, gentler way of saying "gain recognition." I'm pleased with that - it's good for my degree. Some people who are more liberal...the "I want to make the world safe for puppies" type...are going to find this place stifiling. It's very pragmatic - work hard, earn money, support the system, etc. But if that's your thing (that's my thing), this is the place.
