A 3.5 from UVa should be worth moreQuite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
A 3.5 from UVa should be worth more than a 4.0 from some unknown easy college like Florida Gulf Coast University, but it's not. I worked my butt off to get into UVa and so far, it has NOT paid off. They let in too many in-state idiots just to make more money. It's driving the quality of the degree down and the world is starting to see that...just look at the dropping rankings!

Question
If you want more from life- do NOTBrightReligion/Religious
If you want more from life- do NOT go here. Students and faculty alike are arrogant and often times, weirdly obsessed with the school. Students are ignorant of what is happening outside of their small lives. Alcohol abuse is prevalent. Professors are rude and condescending. After three years, I am still in awe of how you can't tell any of the girls apart- they literally are the same person. Don't waste your time. Many of my current and past employers have told me that they rarely hire UVa students right out of school because they can barely function in the real world. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that values individuality, sobriety and friendship.

Question
Due to the rigorous honor system, many professorsQuite BrightPhilosophy
Due to the rigorous honor system, many professors are often on a witch hunt for cheating. I was falsely accused of cheating because ONE answer was similar, but not identical to another person's. The other person and I did not even take the exam at the same time. I was failed for the class, and although many faculty members and dean whose advice I sought said they believed me, they were unwilling to get involved and go against the word of a professor. The F brought my A-/B+ average down to a C average. Also, because most students are so competitive, there is little opportunity to make friends in classes, and most social life thus revolves around off campus drinking, partying, and greek life. Although the school is beautiful and prestigious, the atmosphere of arrogance and competition is unbearable. However, if you can tolerate the pretentiousness and you enjoy greek life and multitudinous traditions, then UVA is probably right for you.
