There is absolutely no party life.Quite BrightUndecided
There is absolutely no party life...if there are parties, they are quiet, and they are in the mac's with only 15 people or so, so yea pretty lame compared to schools like Illinois State and U of I where I visited friends before attending this joke of a school. There are no frats or sororities, therefore no party scene at all. I would get done with 4 hours of homework, and all that would be happening is a few people sitting around. Maybe all the eskimos here think it's a party because Alaska doesn't have shit for parties, very small, quiet, boring, dumb. Do not go here, it's not a very good school.

I transferred from UAF, and wished that I never left. I have been here for a year and it has been horrible. The only majors or programs worth entering into is nursing, WWAMI, and aviation. I felt that I wasn't challenge at all, and that I wasted money on a D- education. I have had several problems with faculty, staff, and admin (university center-financial aid, etc). I have talk to people in different departments and other students, and have to sum up that UAA is nothing but a big community college. UAF by far is the better pick in Alaska and then APU. UAA should not be on anyone's list for college choices. The housing and res life do not communicate, and the apartments are run down. The residence halls are new, but you have to have a meal plan that doesn't roll over.

Question
UAA is an alright campus if you areBrightOther
UAA is an alright campus if you are looking for a safety school. The only reason i came up here was because I had lived in Alaska for a few years and wanted to come back. The social life here is completly dead, no bands come up here, our sports teams are okay (not that entertaining to watch), almost no students at sporting events, and programs for student entertainment are small and usually under advertized. As far as the education, it is okay. I mean a degree is a degree but it is not that hard to get a degree from here. I feel as challenged as I did in high school.
