This school is the most depressing place I'veAverageBiology
This school is the most depressing place I've ever seen. It's very difficult to go to this school and be a generally happy person. It sucks the life out of you from the very old dorms to the graveyard and freezing walks to class every morning on the saint Benedict path. I started my freshman year with 22 kids in my pod and already 7 kids have transferred to a different university and 4 have dropped out entirely. The campus looks nice and they do give very good scholarships, but please understand there is a lot more to this place that kills individuality and spirit. You are a number here and not a person. Please for your own sake pay a little more and go to a different school.

The History department is wonderful! Most of the faculty at SVC are very kind. However, many of faculty members and administrators are very religious and act very condescending toward people who are not. The administration is also completely incompetent. I could not recommend coming here to anyone with a brain. Save yourself years of frustration and go somewhere else. The liberal arts aspect of the college is dying and is becoming a right-wing prep school. What happened to Catholicism being open and accepting?

Question
The internet here is god awful.BrightAnthropology
The internet here is god awful. If gaming is a hobby you'll either have to sacrifice it or look elsewhere. I don't watch a whole lot of TV so this is my form of entertainment and it is absolutely horrible. They fail at providing something as simple such as internet connection yet they will build a science center, a "gristmill", or "nature center". The majority of the buildings here are old, and smell old as well.

There isn't a whole lot here in the form of food service. The cafateria has somewhat short hours. There really is only one other place you can go, which is aptly named "The Shack". You can get really disgusting fried foods here that have been sitting out all day, and drinks.

The campus is set up oddly in that the middle of it is entirely composed of athletic fields. So, walking from one side to the other is a bit tedious.

Since this is a Catholic school it seems they force teaching about Christianity and implementing it into unrelated subjects such as anthropology, history, and music. This can be annoying at times.

The campus is small and feels like a high school one at that. You'll often see the same faces everyday where ever you go which could be good or bad depending who you are.

There is quite a limited amount of programs they offer. I've seen many other universities that offer a much large major listing than this one.All in all, I believe that for the amount of money you have to pay (which is a lot) just doesn't equal the value you get. Class sizes really aren't that small, horrible internet connection, and just cheap, old ammenities have turned me off since the start.
